Drupal 7 Release

After years of hard work put in by the Drupal community ably led by the Drupal founder Dries Buytaert, Drupal 7 seems to be ready for an initial alpha release on January 15, 2010. The release date also marks the ninth anniversary for Drupal, an ace open source technology which has revolutionized the internet space.

The core strength behind the immense success of Drupal as a widely accepted Content Management System (CMS) is its community of developers who are constantly working around the rapidly changing technology and ensuring Drupal adapts itself to it and offers a world class and scalable architecture to power top websites of today.

After the alpha release the developers working on Drupal project will have to work tirelessly in order for a final release which might happen by the end of March when all the critical issues ht rock bottom and bug fixes are in order. Apart from the many improvements Drupal 7 is expected to have CCK in its core, an exciting User Interface, new db abstraction layer, browser based upgrade of contributed modules and much more.

We are hopeful that Drupal 7 sees the daylight on Jan. 15 and the critical issues addressed in the nick of time so that the Drupal enthusiasts like us get another reason to Cheers!
