Inactive User

The word about Drupal is spreading like fire and rightly so. Today Drupal is positioned as an ace technology for empowering websites. Drupal has managed to stay ahead in the battle of open-source based Content Management Systems largely because of its growing community of dedicated developers who are rolling out innovative solutions as fast as a magician pulls rabbits out of his hat.

Today I am profiling one such innovative solution (module in Drupal terms) which is actually a power bestowed upon website administrators. Many a times website owners/admins confront a situation wherein there are a large number of members who are inactive on a website and not contributing or participating in any of the activities, e.g. Social Networking sites whose success mantra revolves around generating user interaction so that more and more new users are added on to the website.

To combat this problem the inactive_user module in Drupal comes handy for the website administrators. This module allows an admin to control all such users who are inactive on his website thereby serving two purposes: A. Terminate all inactive accounts and B. Entice the users to return to the website by reminding them about their inactivity period. The admin gets the option to exercise the following options through this module:

  • Notify and e-mail the inactive users
  • Warning and a subsequent termination of account
  • Delete the inactive account

Explore this exciting module now and manage your website in a more efficient manner.

Happy Drupaling!!
